Terry Lee Serpan

Terry Lee Serpan, age 60, retired welder and maintenance man, passed away March 22, 2013. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who also loved to tinker and barter.

Terry was born Oct. 3, 1952, to Gene and Delores (Talbott) Serpan in La Crosse.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gene.

In 1994, he married Mylene Pankratz Queen. Along with Mylene, he is survived by his children, Lantana (Queen) Howell, Seth Queen and grandchildren, Bradlee and Caden, all of Sedgwick; his mother, Dee Talbott of McPherson; brothers, Oris (Carolyn) Serpan of Colwich, Lyndy (Karen) Serpan of Edmond, Okla.; sister, Tava Serpan of Denver, Colo.; his in-laws, Harold and Esther Pankratz of Hillsboro; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends, including his favorite four-legged friends, Tucker, Nikki and Lucy.

Friends may greet family at Petersen Family Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N. Main St., Newton, KS 67114, at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013.

Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home. Burial of the cremains will be later in the spring at Bohemian National Cemetery in Timken.

    A smile comes to my face when I think of growing up in Timken and the good times we shared as neighbors. I remember Terry and my brother,Joe, were such good friends before Joe died in 1965. There must be a grand reunion in heaven now between the two of them!
