Thomas E LaGree 79, died February 15, 2023, at his Newton residence. He was born July 23, 1943, in Newton, Kansas to Willard and Elsie (Butts) LaGree.
Tom married Goldie F Baldwin in Newton, Kansas on December 4, 1965, she preceded him in death on December 24, 2009.
Thomas served with The United States Army and was Honorably Discharged in 1968. After working for the City of Newton for 35 years he retired as a Foreman in the Street Department.
His greatest joy was his family and he found happiness surrounded by family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter Tammy LaGree; brother Gary LaGree and grandchildren Janae (Skyler Welch), Morgan Foudray (Missy), Megan Telles, and Dustin Foudray (Kelly) . He is also survived by 10 Great Grandchildren. Aaliyah Hanes and Thomas Welch; Lane, Gunner, Addy, Kensley, Colt, and Kimber Foudray; Brooklynn, Eli and Ryder Telles all of Newton and a large extended Family. He will truly be missed.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife and fishing partner Goldie, sisters Gloria LaGree, Diane LaGree, one brother Stanley LaGree and two sons Ellis LaGree and Thomas LaGree.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Petersen Funeral Home, with Family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2023, at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton with Chaplain Nicholaus Miller presiding. A graveside committal service with Kansas Patriot Guard escort will be in Restlawn Gardens of Memory Cemetery Newton, Kansas.
Memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses or Central Care Cancer Center and left in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
Tom was my dad’s best friend. He was always there my entire life and was a great man. Him and his family will always hold a special place in my heart.

Tom was a good man. I employed him at the City of Newton and enjoyed working with him. I am sorry for your loss.
