Trudy Barber

d. February 25, 2016

Teresa “Trudy” Barber, of Springfield, Missouri went to be with her heavenly father on February 25, 2016. She was born to Geraldine and Norman Reese on October 29, 1960.  Trudy earned a Bachelor Degree from Fort Hays College in Communication in 1982, and then went to work for their Admission Office.  Trudy also worked in the Admission Office for Wichita State University, was a Trainer for Emprise Bank, served as a House Manager for the Ronald McDonald House, and later worked with Admissions for Berean Academy.  Trudy met her husband, Jim Barber, on a blind date on March 1, 1986. Jim knew the first time he met her, that he would marry her. They were married on August 30, 1986 in Logan, Kansas. Trudy and Jim were blessed with two sons, Blake and Brady. Trudy took great care to ensure that her boys were brought up in the way of the Lord. She loved them to the moon and back.  She was a prayer warrior, praying every day in her prayer chair for her husband, children, family, friends, our country, Israel, and however she felt the Holy Spirit leading her to pray. Trudy set out to finish her fight against the cancer in a way that brought Honor and Glory to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  During the last years of Trudy’s life, the love shared within her family shone bright.  Her sisters were an incredible blessing to both Trudy and Jim, helping them at the home and spending time with Trudy.  Trudy is preceded in death by her parents Norman and Geraldine Reese. She is survived by husband, Jim Barber; sons, Blake and wife Katie Barber, Brady Barber; sisters, Barbara Deewall, Normadine Noone; brother Berye Reese; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Trudy’s life will be held at 1:30 pm., March 2, 2016 at Berean Academy 201 Elbing Rd, Elbing, KS 67041.  In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to make a memorial donation in Trudy’s memory to any of the following: Berean Academy; Newton Christian Church; or Operation Broken Silence.
