Virginia L. Faris “Ginger”

d. April 17, 2021

Virginia L. Faris “Ginger”,75, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Virginia was born on February 27, 1946 at home in rural Halstead, Kansas, the daughter of Kenneth and Marjorie (Unruh) Stucky; they precede her in death.

On December 24, 1974, she married Forrest Faris in Newton, Kansas, he survives of the home.

Virginia grew up on a farm and absolutely loved it, she was outside more than she was inside. She had 40 cats and every animal was her friend. She had 2 calves and named them Pancake and Waffles. Waffles was pretty lucky as Mom rode him to the mailbox every day to get the mail for her parents, she said cars would slam on their breaks when they saw her. She also had a chicken that only wanted to sit on eggs, so she named her Setty. Setty loved Mom and would ride in the basket of her bike, together they would visit neighbors and relatives that lived close to the farm.

Later in life Virginia would become a city girl, but she never lost her love for all animals. In 2014 Forrest bought her a chicken coop for her birthday, you would have thought she hit the lottery, she was so happy. She was the proud Mom of 6 chicks and every day she would do her chores of taking care of feeding her chickens, 8 squirrels, and many birds. Animals were her therapy up until her death. The family promised they would continue to care for all of her animals every day.

Virginia was a welder at a local manufacture for several years and that would be where she met her husband, Forrest. After her last child was born, she went into daycare full time and over her combined 32 years she cared for many kids. After her retirement she started Newton Detail Shop and helped her son run Performance Plus car lot. In 2006 Mom became a CAN/Home Health Aid and loved every minute of it. She loved taking care of the elderly and spoiled every one of them. Mom fully retired in 2018 when she would start the fight of her life battling cancer. Mom absolutely loved and cherished her family and fought so hard so she didn’t have to leave them, but heaven needed an angel. We will all miss her for the rest our lives until we see her again, we love you Momma!

Virginia leaves behind a very special family: husband, Forrest Faris; brothers, Kenneth (Ruth) Stucky and Kirby Stucky; son, Joe (Sabrina) Faris; daughter, Sandy Niemczyk and partner, Tammy Pugh; daughter, Misty Faris; honorary son, Ron (Christina) Richards; grandchildren, Samantha (Nate) McCann, Shelby Faris (Josh Tucker), Cody (Haven) Faris, Dylan (Brooke) Anderson, Abby Anderson (Kyle Becker), Carlye Anderson (Wyatt Hendrickson) and KC Niemczyk (Drew Libscomb); great-grandchildren, Shawn Tucker, Olivia Faris, Laynee Fessenden, Gunnar McCann, Owen Tucker, Josie McCann, Carter Faris, Hunter Faris and Oaklynn Faris; a very special Aunt Joy, many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and her boys from the shops; two kitties, Lilly and Cricket and two chickens, Dotty and Molly.

Virginia was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents, Kenneth and Marjorie Stucky; brother, Keith Stucky; great-nephew, Chase Stucky; father and mother-in-law, Albert and Wanda Faris; brother-in-law, Roy Faris; sister-in-law, Lola Faris, and many other loving relatives. Mom’s favorite chicken Tilley passed away in her nest shortly before Mom passed away, I guess they needed each other in heaven.
