Wallace M. “Wally” Hill 88, died Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Lakepoint in Wichita, Kansas. He was born September 10, 1926 in Stillwell, Oklahoma to Frank and Nettie (Haney) Hill.  He was preceded in death by his first wife Donna Seltenleich Hill in 1996. He married Barbara J Balance on August 16, 2002 in Victoria British Columbia and she survives.  Wallace was a member of the Bridgeport Missionary Baptist Church in Wichita, KS.  He served his country in the US Army during WW II earning the rank of Sergeant.  On December 1, 1986  he retired from the Santa Fe Railroad as assistant manager car inspector and repairs out of Topeka after 44 1/2 years of service.   Wally was active in the masonic lodge and shrine serving as Past Master of Newton #142; Past President of the Harvey County Shrine Club and active in the Shrine antique auto unit. He was also past commander of the Newton American Legion Post #2.  Wally enjoyed traveling in the United States, maintaining and his 55 T-Bird and showing it in parades.  He also enjoyed spending time with his neighbors and friends and helping them with his handyman skills. 

 

He is survived by his wife Barbara of the home and Barbara’s children Valerie, Denise, Babette, Gina and Mitch. He is also survived by his sister and her husband Patsy and Dennis Derezotes of Ozark, MO  brothers Duane Isaacs and his wife Kathy of  Branson, MO and their four children Sharon, Teresa, David and Donna  and Gayle Isaacs  Tulsa, OK and his grandchildren.

 

Funeral service with Masonic rites will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2014 at Petersen Funeral Home with Pastor Mitch Andrla presiding. Burial with military honors will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home.
