Wanda E. Claassen Obituary
Wanda E. Claassen, 88, passed away June 30, 2015, at Newton Medical Center. She was born January 18, 1927 in Inman, Kansas to Henry P. and Maria Ediger Nachtigal.
Wanda graduated from the Bethel Deaconess Hospital Nursing Program in1948 and greatly enjoyed her career as a caregiver, especially working with newborn babies.
She was married to Donald E. Claassen and was a loving wife and mother while raising a family on their farm in North Newton. Donald passed away in 1974.
Her life took a new direction, and she married Albert J. Loganbill and moved to Dana Point, California. They eventually returned to Newton and Albert also preceded her in death.
Wanda’s greatest joy was her family. She loved visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her eyes lit up whenever they entered in the room. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. She was a life time member of the Bethel College Mennonite Church.
She is survived by her daughters: Joleen Claassen and Debra (Claassen) Van Vleck (Steve); son: David Claassen (Michelle), granddaughters: Cara (Eshelman) Kliewer (Chris), Cristina (Eshelman) Webster (John), Emily (Van Vleck) Tucker (Jeremy), grandsons: William Van Vleck (Kelley Boes), Dylan Claassen and Jhett Claassen; and great-granddaughters: Ava Kliewer, Vivian Kliewer and Eleanor Tucker.
A memorial service for family and friends is scheduled at a later date. Petersenfamilyfuneralhome.com.
Our condolences to the Claassen family. May the good Lord help you through this difficult time. Wanda was always an enjoyable person to visit with. Al & Ann Monares
