Newton

In loving memory of our dear Wanda Faye Jansen, a devoted Registered Nurse whose life touched so many, it is with heavy hearts that we announce her passing on March 20, 2024. Wanda, born on November 2, 1936, touched the lives of all she encountered through her compassionate care and unwavering dedication to nursing.

Wanda graduated from Clyde Rural High School in 1954, and found her love for nursing at the Asbury School of Nursing in Salina where she graduated in 1957. She colored her schooling with over 30+ hours of continuing education each year.

Throughout her career, Wanda served selflessly in various medical institutions, from the Medical Surgical Wards of hospitals in Colorado to supervising nursing staff at the Axtell Clinic in Newton, Kansas. Her work with various healthcare providers and the American Red Cross Mobile Blood Unit showcased her commitment to healing and caring for others.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Wanda's generosity extended into her community, where she quietly supported those in need and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Her kindness and compassion left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

An active member of the First United Methodist Church, Wanda found solace and purpose in her faith, embodying its teachings through her actions and interactions with others.

Wanda is survived by Niece Irene (Bruce) Brown; Nephew Carroll (Jane) Couture; great nephews Spencer and Rio Brown, Jennifer (Brad) Wheeler, Kevin (Kelby) Couture, Brad (Tatum) Couture; Great-Great Nephews Maklen Brown, Merritt Brown, Izzabel Wheeler, Annabel Wheeler, Addisyn Couture, Gunnar Couture, Gannon Couture. As well as long time best friend Marilyn Coats.
