Willard (Bill) Stucky
Willard Stucky, 84, minister and carpenter, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Kidron Bethel Village. He was known to many as Bill.
Bill was born July 26, 1929 to Emilie and Gideon Stucky in rural McPherson, Kansas.On August 8, 1954, he married Marjorie Olson.
Bill and Marj served Mennonite churches in Deer Creek, Oklahoma; Liberal, Kansas; Turpin, Oklahoma; and Fort Collins, Colorado. From 1974 – 1984, Bill and Marj were directors of Camp Mennoscah near Murdock, Kansas.
After retiring, Bill and Marj moved to North Newton, Kansas, and have since been members of New Creation Fellowship.
Bill leaves behind Marjorie; son Alan of Denton, Texas and daughter Jo Suderman of Gardiner, Montana and their families; sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth and Wayne Belknap of Inman; and sister Margaret Thiessen of Hutchinson.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents Emilie and Gideon Stucky, and siblings and their spouses: Linda and Carl Oberst, Sara and Jacob Daum, Paul and Rosalie Stucky, Harry and Bertha Reimer, sister Martha Stucky, Mary and Menno Doerksen, and brother-in-law Ed Thiessen.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM on October 12 at Faith Mennonite Church, Newton. Private family committal services will take place at Eden Cemetery, Moundridge, following the memorial.
Memorials may be made to New Creation Fellowship or to Kidron Bethel. Memorial gifts may be sent in care of Peterson Funeral Home, Newton.
